The story of José María Capitán, owner of 100 Montaditos
In the year 2000, José María Capitán made a bold decision to embark on his own entrepreneurial journey. He transformed a small space into a bar that offered a single product at a single price, with a decor that recreated the atmosphere of traditional taverns in Cádiz. Thus, 100 Montaditos was born.
The success of this idea led him to offer franchises for this business. The concept was so good that it revolutionized the industry, introducing concepts such as smart cost: prioritizing the quality of the product at a fair and accessible price.
And it triumphed. Today, 100 Montaditos has 450 restaurant units in 13 countries.
Born in Sevilla in 1969, Capitán is a clear example of a self-made man. In recent years, he has been chosen as one of the most important and influential self-made entrepreneurs in Spain by the Instituto Coordenadas.
